The Story of Patch |
Last Updated: June 30, 2003
Patch is a timid little corgi/spaniel from a Chattanooga, TN shelter with some health problems. She was heavily infested with heartworm, intestinal worms and ear mites and was a little underweight at 13.5 lbs. She had some hair loss on her sides & back from poor nutrition.
She has come a long way. After being treated for heartworms and the rest (thanks to CorgiAid), she is much healthier. With good nutrition and some supplements Jeanne, her foster mom in CT, is giving her, her coat is filling in nicely. She has also gained weight and is at a nice healthy 15 lbs.
Patch is a true lover and craves attention. She is wonderful with dogs, cats and kids and would be the perfect dog for any family, although, she does tire of young children and seeks refuse if around them too long. She loves everyone, but will go out of her way to get attention from a man.
She seems to be about 5yrs old, or a little older. She is faithfully housebroken after becoming familiar with where the doors are in a new home, but, she has to be coaxed to potty in wet grass. What a little princess! 🙂
She requires no more exercise than an occasional short frap around the house and loves to ride in the car. She has no interest in toys but loves a good rawhide chew. She is definitely an indoor dog and even likes her crate.
Patch is a chow hound and begs “pretty please” on hind quarters.
What a great gal she is. Thank you so much, CorgiAid, for your financial help. She is well worth the effort & will make someone a very loving companion.
