Here is Sooner’s story, as told by his rescuer:
“I am a rescue volunteer for the Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America. A woman found what she thought was a Cardigan while she was in Oklahoma on vacation, she brought the dog back to Texas and tracked me down. When she described this dog she said it was a Corgi with a tail. I told her I would take him in as a Rescue/Foster dog. When she brought the dog to me I could see he is a Pembroke Corgi with a tail!
“I contacted the local Pem club and they asked if I could keep Sooner and foster him which I said I could. I took him to my vet and he tested positive for Heartworms. The Pem club said that I should apply to Corgi Aid to cover the cost of treatment.
“Sooner is a very sweet dog, he is 10-12 lbs. overweight but other then the extra pounds and the Heartworms he is in excellent health. He has a great disposition and is extremely outgoing and happy with everyone he meets.”
CorgiAid supporters will help Sooner get rid of those nasty heartworms, so he can look for his forever home. Thank you!
This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Deirdre Samples-Marr at dastx@sbcglobal.net for more information.
