Cappy

Here is Cappy’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Cappy was rescued from a puppy mill in PA where she spent her entire life outside in a small crate that she shared with two or three other breeding females. She was bred constantly from the time she was old enough to have puppies. Right after she was brought into Pet Rescue of MD, she suddenly couldn’t use her back legs. We took her to a veterinary neurologist and she was diagnosed with two ruptured disks, a blood clot and urinary tract infction. The doctor determined that Cappy would be paralized without surgery, but had a good chance at recovery with surgery.
“Five months after her surgery, Cappy is walking very well and even does her version of running. She is unable to do steps, but she can put her front feet up on the couch when she wants attention.
“Because of the way she lived the first years of her life, Cappy is easily startled by strange objects and sounds. She has a come a long way since coming in to our rescue group and being fostered in a loving home, but we think she would do best in a calm and quiet home. She gets along well with other dogs and cats.”
