The Story of Milo

Last Updated: February 01, 2007

Here is Milo’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Milo was picked up as a stray by animal control in Lubbock, TX on 1-21-07. He was not chipped and had no tags so when the required hold period was up the shelter called me to see if I wanted to pull him. He had an injured leg and would most likely have been euthanized as the shelter does not have the funds to treat animals that are sick or injured. I picked him up on 1-25-07 and took him to my vet for evaluation. He was x-rayed and found to have a dislocated elbow and a fractured fibula most likely due to being hit by a car sometime before being picked up by animal control.
“Milo seems like a nice little dog. He has been very tolerant of the treatment that he has received so far and has shown no signs of temperment problems. He appears to be in good health other than his injuries. He is heartworm negative and his teeth seem to be in good shape.
“Milo’s prognosis is good. He may have some loss of range of motion in the elbow, but should still be able to enjoy good quality of life after the surgery.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped with Milo’s successful elbow repair. Thank you!
