Here is PJ’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“In early December I got a call from a woman looking to find a rescue for a Corgi she had inherited. The Corgi girl’s name is Pokey Jane and her original owners died several months ago. PJ then went to live with a friend of the deceased owners. This person went into assisted living about 2 months ago and another elderly friend agreed to take PJ in. This new owner has two dachshunds and found PJ too much to handle with her other dogs. She warned me that PJ was a “little plump” and I agreed to take her in. The new owner did not know where PJs vet records were so I had her vaccinated and vetted on Dec 14, 2007.
“Pokey was found to have a spay scar, she had a large cyst on her neck that had to be lanced and drained and she very much needed a dental. She is about 6 years old. Unfortunately because she is grossly obese (38 pounds, should be close to 20) they cannot anesthetize her until she reaches a reasonable weight.”
CorgiAid supporters will help Pokey Jane get healthy so she can lead the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
Pokey Jane will find her new home in the Houston (TX) area.
This dog is available for adoption. Please contact April Warchol at waltwarchol@kingwoodcable.com for more information.
