The Story of Ruthie

Last Updated: December 24, 2008

Rescuer: Julie Yamane at clcjmy@comcast.net

Ruthie’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Ruthie, a 3 year old black headed tri fluffy corgi, was taken away from a collector in Kansas and brought to Denver by the trucker’s network. Poor Ruthie had mats, maggots under the mats, and fleas, and one back leg wasn’t working. Upon examination, it was determined that she had been hit by a car and the repair work, done within the last 6-12 months, had been botched, leaving Ruth in a great deal of pain. You’d certainly never know it, though, as Ruth appears to be possibly the sweetest Corgi ever born! After the mats, fleas, and maggots were cleaned up, Ruth had surgery with an orthopedic specialist and will be able to walk fairly normally and without pain, although she will develop arthritis later in life. (Won’t we all?!)
“Ruthie has an exceedingly sweet disposition. She doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything, and is also good with other dogs.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Ruthie get her leg fixed. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Julie Yamane at clcjmy@comcast.net for more information.
