The Story of Mysti |

Here is Mysti’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Mysti was found as a stray with her litter of pups and was taken to our county shelter last weekend. The pups were all adopted, but the shelter needed the mama dog to go to rescue since no one wanted her.
“We got Mysti from the shelter on Wed., and she was spayed on Thurs. She was slow to wake up from her spay but had perked up some by this weekend. Sat. morning she woke up hacking up clear fluid. The vet’s office gave me some kennel cough meds, and she improved as the day went on and ate well. This morning she woke up throwing up and has gone downhill all day. We took her to the emergency vet where she tested positive for parvo. They will keep her overnight on IV’s with antiviral meds, antibiotics, etc., and she’ll be transferred to my vet early in the morning. The emergency vet said usually they are hospitalized for 2-3 days, although she has seen some go home in as little as 24 hours. They have seen several cases of parvo from the county shelter recently, and that’s what the parvo test confirmed.”
Sweet little Mysti is barely more than a puppy herself — less than a year old!!
