The Story of Sam

Last Updated: December 12, 2008

Here is Sam: “Sam was a stray dog in the Merced, CA area. He went to the Merced shelter. A rescue colleague contacted me, indicating the shelter was very full and asking if I’d take Sam as a ForPaws dog. Shelter personnel indicated that this dog was one of those “especially nice” temperaments. That proves to be true. He’s extremely affectionate (velcro), wicked smart, active and happy. Tolerates everything, not a hint of aggression toward people or other dogs. Just wants to play! Typical puppy that needs to learn manners, and needs experienced owner who understands “testing” in a dog.”
Very shortly after Sam came in to rescue, it became clear that he has a serious medical issue. He sneezed blood, and then later urinated blood.
Sam is being tested to find out what can be done to help this good boy regain his health. Thank you, CorgiAid supporters, for being there for Sam!
