Here is Pearls’ story, in the words of her rescuer: “Pearl was found along a highway in rural Middle Tennessee. She was turned in to the Fayetteville (Lincoln Co) TN Animal shelter, with a note that said she was a wonderful girl and is housebroken. She had a flea allergy and had some hair loss on her back. Medication and brushing have taken care of that, and her lovely light red hair is growing back. She was chubby, too, but has trimmed down considerably because we measure her food (and limit her to 1-2 small treats/day). She’s a ‘strawberry blonde’ with white bib, and a thin white blaze. She has had pups but is neutered now. Pearl is very sweet-natured, walks well on lead, was fine in the crate in my car. She let us roll her over to check her belly, pick up her feet, etc. with no protest. She is now up-to-date on meds, negative HW test, nails, teeth, skin testing, micro-chipped, etc.
“She would be best in an only-dog home (or maybe with only a male dog) because she seems very possessive of ‘her’ human.
“Pearl is one of the sweetest corgi girls I’ve ever been around (including my own).
“Pearl is one of those dogs that just is so appealing, trusting (she is not head-shy), smart and sweet that once she is healthy and loses some weight, she will make someone a very special canine friend and companion.”
