The Story of Callem

Last Updated: December 16, 2010

Here is Callem’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Callem came to us from a shelter in Ft. Smith Arkansas.
“He was heartworm positive.
“Callem is a sweet little guy. He gets along great with the other dogs and likes to play. The boy has an incredible will to live. We almost him twice.
“Callem had a severe reaction to his third heartworm treatment injection. He went into pulmonary edema. He went from our vet to the ER to the Specialty clinic. Twice I was called to come and see him because he wasn’t going to make it. Both times he pulled through. ”
Heartworm treatment is NOT benign! Everyone, please, for your dog’s sake, *prevent* this instead of needing to treat it!
CorgiAid supporters will help with the expense of helping sweet Callem get back on his feet, so he can go forward and lead the happy life he deserves. Thank you!
