Here is Lilac’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“On Jan 4th Lilac was one of 13 dogs relinquished from a breeder in Missouri. She weighed 47 lbs. After we got her, we discovered blood in her urine.
“01/11 Weight 42 lbs. Urinalysis at Val Verde showed infection. Give antibiotics for 3 weeks
“01/25 Urinalysis showed there is still infection. XRay showed bladder stones. Ultra Sound showed several bladder stones that require surgery to remove. Continue on antibiotics and Royal Canin special diet.
“02/01 Weight 37 lbs. Surgery for spay and remove bladder stones. Continue on antibiotics.
“02/21 Weight 34 lbs. Urinalysis showed that infection is clearing up but not gone. Continue on antibiotics and recheck in 10 days. Lilac will need to be on the special diet for another month after the infection is completely cleared.
“Lilac is a sweet dog and was very overweight. With diet and exercise, Lilac has lost weight and is almost at her ideal weight.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped with Lilac’s surgery and antibiotics, so she can go forward and lead the happy life she deserves. Thank you!
