The Story of Susy

Last Updated: December 07, 2011

Rescuer: B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com

“Suzy’s owner called me in tears. She had bought Suzy as a 6 week old puppy, because she liked the size of the corgis and wanted a lap dog companion. Well Suzy had other ideas, and being a lap dog wasn’t one of them. Suzy’s owner is a senior citizen with very limited mobility, and Suzy was constantly rushing out the front door for a game of chase her owner couldn’t play. Recently the owner had tripped over Suzy and broken her wrist, and her adult children said Suzy must go. She was heartbroken but agreed that Suzy was probably not getting the exercise and training she needed to be a good girl. She’s sort of bratty, having gotten away with all sorts of bad behavior for a year and a half. Suzy is overdue on vaccinations and will need to be tested for heartworms and the other usual suspects. She is showing some tenderness in her back end, so I need to have her checked out there as well. It is possible the trip and fall incident resulted in an injury to Suzy as well. At only 19 pounds,Suzy is still too heavy for her tiny frame. She probably needs to take off 2-3 pounds. ”
CorgiAid supporters will help Suzy get healthy, so she can lead the happy active life she deserves. Thank you!
Suzy was rescued in Oklahoma.
