Wally

As much as we wish every rescue story could have a happy ending, reality often harsh………….
Here is Wally’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Received a call from a vet clinic. New client brought in their corgi pup who had stop eating and was losing weight. Vet diagnosed an obstruction, possibly a walnut, and recommended surgery. The owners took the dog home, saying they would think about how they could come up with the money to pay for it. A week later they called the vet clinic and said they couldn’t pay for it, and would like to have the pup euthanized. Meanwhile the pup had not eaten during that week. After getting the call, I agreed to go get the dog and get him treated. He is extremely emaciated and needs surgery to remove the obstruction if he has any chance of survival. He will also need neutering and the usual tests.”

Sadly, surgery revealed that Wally had swallowed something electrical. Wires had perforated his intestines, and at least four feet of intestine were necrotic. His vet advised that he’d suffered enough, and, with tears, his rescuer agreed.
It is good that Wally is no longer in pain.
