The Story of Courtney

Last Updated: June 30, 2013

Rescuer: Anitra Francis at anitra@secondhandhounds.org

Here is Courtney’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Courtney was found as a stray in Missouri and found herself at the Joplin Humane Society. Another corgi-loving FB friend, saw her there and discovered she appeared to be pregnant. I made arrangements to have her transferred to Secondhand Hounds in MN, and she gave birth on 5/19/2013 to 10 puppies. Unfortunately she had to be brought in for an emergency C-section where it was discovered that her uterus had burst. Fortunately she made it through the ordeal alive, however only 4 of her puppies survived. The little family is doing well!
“Courtney is a very sweet girl who is taking wonderful care of her puppies. Fortunately she made it out of the shelter as she would have certainly died there due to the complications of her pregnancy.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Courtney get the emergency surgery she needed to survive the ruptured uterus. Thank you!
Courtney received her care in Minnesota.

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Anitra Francis at anitra@secondhandhounds.org for more information.
