The Story of Papa Murphy

Last Updated: March 26, 2013

Rescuer: B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com

Here is Papa Murphy’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“This is what the Craigslist ad said: ‘This is a wonderful, loving, outside dog that will make a great pet. I’m downsizing and need to move him this week.’
“Papa has never been vaccinated or been on heartworm preventative. Never been inside a house. He is heartworm positive and was carrying hooks, tapes and rounds. His heart and other organs are enlarged, but his bloodwork looked pretty good. We are hoping he can undergo neuter safely and then eventually heartworm treatment (though we may opt for the slow kill method on him). His lack of care makes him look and act much older than his 9 years. I am hoping to turn that around. He’s a sweet loving boy who is very happy right now to be an inside dog.”
CorgiAid supporters will help Papa get healthy (including getting rid of those nasty heartworms!) as he learns how to be a pet instead of a lawn ornament. Thank you.
Papa was rescued in Oklahoma.

This dog is not available for adoption.
