Here is Tucker’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“I received a call from Tyke and Tucker’s owner stating that she had two male corgis that she needed to ‘get rid of’ because there was a 16 month old ‘real baby now,’ and that they ‘didn’t have time for the dogs anymore.’ Tyke and Tucker are six year old litter mates and have been together their entire lives. They have lived outside even during the winter because they ‘had a dog house.’ They haven’t been physically abused, but they certainly have been neglected in routine medical care, attention and affection.
“Tucker has not fared as well as his brother. He has issues with either his hips or his back because he bunny hops often when running, does not have a normal range of motion, and has a bit of difficulty getting up. When I asked about his movement his owner responded that ‘he’s always done that.’ Tucker is very sensitive about his rear and clearly it is painful. He has never been seen for this issue, and has been living in pain for who knows how long. Tucker’s teeth are very nasty and his gums look terrible. As if he didn’t have enough issues, he also has blood in his urine and a hotspot on the left back leg that needs attention.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Tucker get the medical care he needed. With better nutrition, and supplements, and occasional pain-killers, Tucker’s mobility has been vastly improved. He is doing much better now! Thank you!
Tucker was rescued in Texas.
