Here is Champion’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Champion came into the shelter on 12/10/14. He had been hit by a car and suffered a crushed pelvis and 7 fractures. Shelter vet took x-rays which a corgi colleague took to her vet. Three vets reviewed the shelter x-rays and felt six weeks of cage rest should heal the fractured pelvis. If not, then surgery by a board certified vet (one of the three who reviewed the shelter vet x-rays) would be appropriate.
“He is very sweet and gave the rescuers a slurpy kiss as he was wheeled out to meet the three of us, myself, his foster mom and the good samaritan that sponsored his bailout fee at the shelter.”
CorgiAid supporters stood ready to help Champion with surgery. Luckily for Champion, it turned out that surgery was not necessary — strict crate rest was the best solution. CorgiAid supporters have helped Champion with his diagnosis and check-ups. Thank you!
