The Story of Meriah |

Here is Meriah’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Meriah came to us from a tiny rural Missouri town. Her owner could not afford the expense of caring for Meriah and her severe osteoarthritis. Meriah also has bi-lateral partial ACL tears. In addition she was very close to feral. The woman kept her in the garage. For weeks she stayed under the bed in her foster home, at times not coming out to urinate or defecate.
“Over the months Meriah has become a completely different girl. She loves her walks. She gets along with the other dogs. She likes people as long as they are quite and don’t try to grab her. She has a smile for everyone and has become a real dog.
“Surgery was out of the question for her knees and OA. The orthopedic surgeon said, ‘I’d be concerned about doing a TPLO on a dog so fearful. That strong of a flight response is potential for catastrophic failure in any surgery.’ We treated her with laser and meds. She is pain free at this time.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Meriah get healthy (including a clean and healthy mouth) as she worked on learning how to be a beloved pet.
Thank you!
