Here is Rosie’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Rosie came into rescue as an owner surrender. She was suffering from what the family thought was allergies, but this family had undergone devastating financial situations and there was no way they could provide veterinary care. They also had no idea how bad Rosie’s condition truly was. Rosie was suffering from a weeks to months long flea infestation that had resulted in her skin being in terrible shape, red, horribly itchy, and various over-the-counter preparations were not helping. She had been wearing a cone to try to prevent her from biting and scratching, but the family could see she was miserable. Rosie had had no veterinary care since she was a puppy, she was not on heartworm prevention, had not had vaccinations for six years and was unaltered.
“Lucky for Rosie, the family loved her enough to realize that they had to put her needs ahead of their reluctance to give her up and they contacted rescue to help her.
“In spite of Rosie’s obvious pain and itching, she has a wonderful disposition and was eager for human interaction and attention. Faery Tails volunteers and the staff at the vet clinic quickly fell in love with the petite little corgi as they provided the care she had been needing for so long.
“Rosie responded with enthusiasm, accepting all the necessary treatments and showing improvement on a daily basis. She was happy to be around people of any age, other animals, and quickly discovered that she adored toys as well.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped this good girl get the care she needed in order to be comfortable in her own skin. The power of the fluff has been with her — she has done a super job of regrowing hair, even in places where the vets thought she might always be naked.
