The Story of Bruce Wayne

Last Updated: October 26, 2015

Rescuer: Shannon O’Daniel at odanshan@gmail.com

Here is Bruce’s story, in the words of his rescuer:

“This past weekend I was contacted by members of my Corgi Rescue group about a corgi mix at the Memphis Animal Shelter. He had been possibly hit by a car. I was told that there was an adopter on board ready to pay for any medical care he may need. So I went and adopted him on Sunday on her behalf. After many conversations with the potential adopter, she decided not to take him after we definitively diagnosed Bruce with an ACL tear. So what had started as a simple rescue mission had turned out to be a much larger and more complicated endeavor than I had planned on handling.

“Bruce was neutered before leaving the shelter on 10/5/15, is completely updated on vaccines and is Microchipped. He is currently staying at the vet. He is receiving pain meds for his knee.

“The vet has agreed to do a CCL Surgery on Bruce for cost. Bruce is welcomed to stay at the clinic for as long as he needs to.

“I temperament tested Bruce with my own dog on 10/7 and he did wonderfully. He is very friendly and lovable with people. He has encountered men, women and children and has had no behavioral issues.”

CorgiAid supporters have helped Bruce get the ligament repair he needed. He is currently undergoing rehab. Thank you for helping him get the surgery he needed to be comfortable and mobile!

Bruce was rescued in Tennessee.

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Shannon O’Daniel at odanshan@gmail.com for more information.
