Here is Stevie’s story, in the words of his adopter:
“Stevie came to us from a rural shelter. He was an abuse and neglect case and taken from the owner. His front and side teeth are literally worn almost to the gums. Suspicion is that he was eating rocks, cans, etc. He has bi-laterial perineal hernias. He had conjunctivitis in both eyes. When we got him his bum was filled with stitches and staples. A large dog at the mobile home park attacked him. He was running the streets of course. The stitches/staples had been in for 45 days and infection developed. He may have some neurological issues, showing some symptoms, but nothing to be concerned about at this time. The surgeon found old injuries, broken ribs on both sides of his body. He was also intact and had prostatitis. She said, ‘This little guy has been dropped kicked a few times.’ He was a mess!
“Stevie is a sweet, kind, gentle dog. How, after all that he has been through, I do not know. He loves people! He will sit on my husband’s lap for hours. He absolutely was so excited when he got his first hedge hog, I bought him a couple more. He carries a hedge hog every where that he goes.He is now in a foster home with a female Corgi. He loves her. She is a bit snooty, but he follows her and is learning from her. So far he is without a doubt, a wonderful success story. He still needs a dental, and may need hernia surgery. Right now he is a happy little guy.”
CorgiAid supporters are helping Stevie recover from his many issues, and celebrate with him as he revels in lap-sitting and toy hedgehog chomping. Thank you!
Stevie was rescued in Missouri.
