Here is Emmy’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Miss Emmy (as we now call her) was surrendered by her owners due to her having digestive issues (vomiting daily)…they took her to their vet and had a preliminary diagnosis of megaesophagus and decided they could not continue treatment nor could they make the heart wrenching decision for euthanasia. They had contacted their breeder who recommended they find a rescue to help, as she couldn’t either.
“Emmy is the sweetest little thing ever.
“She is acclimating to a full protocol of treatment for megaesophagus at this point…we have lessened her vomiting issues with sitting up 30 – 40 minutes after eating/drinking and getting drugs on board. She gained 2 lbs in the first two weeks of this protocol.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Emmy get diagnosed and to get a protocol in place for dealing with this manageable condition. Thank you! She will need careful feeding and management for the rest of her life.
Emmy was rescued in Arizona.
