The Story of Kizmet

Last Updated: March 30, 2016

Kizmet came in to rescue with a serious intestinal blockage. His intestine had ruptured. Major surgery was needed to save his life.

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac’s rescue made sure he got his surgery, which was a success.

He was in dire shape when he went in to surgery. His recovery was difficult, and he needed some testing to find out what to do to help him get better. Xrays and blood tests suggested a very unhappy gut (not a surprise, given what it had just been through!), and calming meds and a bland diet were prescribed.

Kizmet is feeling much better now.

His rescuer says:

“After 24 hours on the meds and bland food, he has clearly improved as he is eating most of his meals, more active, no vomit and pooping now at the time of this application. Hooray! Kizmet is such a GREAT dog, extremely friendly, affectionate, gentle, social with other dogs/people, fun, happy go lucky guy. He definitely was worth the extreme effort by his entire ‘support group,’ to give him the opportunity to fulfill his Legacy! Kiz is grateful and full of life.”

CorgiAid supporters have helped with Kizmet’s post-surgery tests and care. Thank you!

He was rescued in Maryland.
