Here is Winston’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Winston was rescued from a rural shelter in Alabama. Alabama is out of our usual rescue range but when we found out about him we could not leave him there! He was in rough shape and the shelter was about to euthanize him due to medical issues and age. We are not sure how old he is exactly, but he is heartworm positive, we suspected mange, and he had several masses. He looked like he was near death.
“Despite all his issues, he is a sweet, gentle boy.
“We are not sure what will become of his masses; he needs to have his infections cleared up first. Then we will either place him up for adoption or he will live the rest of his days in comfort with a hospice foster. He will also need to have his heartworms treated but we are waiting to see what happens with his masses to decide the best course of action.
“Update–his masses were benign–he will be treated for heartworm and then placed up for adoption.”
CorgiAid supporters are helping Winston get healthy, so he can move forward into the happy retirement he deserves.
Winston was rescued in South Carolina.
