The Story of Sid |
Last update 02/13/2023
Sid was surrendered to SOS Corgi Rescue in Canada because he had an intestinal blockage that required urgent surgery and his family could not afford to pay for the procedure he needed. His family had changed since he had been adopted, they now had a small child and the couple was separating. All these changes added to the pressure the family was going through, and they just could not care for him.
Sid had urgent surgery to remove intestinal blockage, while the object could not be identified by the vet, it was extremely hard and a bit hairy. Part of his intestine had to be removed as well, due to inflammation. Sid will need to eat canned gastric food going forward as his digestive system is compromised. He is currently with an SOS Corgi Canada foster family, where he will be cared for until he is fully recovered and can be fully evaluated for eventual adoption. Sid will also require extensive dental care when he is better and up to it.
Thanks to our donors and the rescue, Sid has a chance for a new family and long and happy life.
