Niles

Posted on December 9, 2007February 18, 2023 By admin

We adopted Niles from the Seattle Purebred Rescue in 1999. About 3 years old at the time, he was a malnourished 24-pound weakling with a rap sheet and a bad attitude. It was love at first sight.

For the first few weeks Niles didn’t smile, his eyes were dull and he didn’t even know how to play. But as our love wrapped around his soul and he knew he had a home for life, he brightened like a beam of light and wore a perpetual grin. For 9 years he was his mama’s walking partner, the night sentinel, the cat herder, Daddy’s face-kisser, and friendly feet-licker. He was the family clown, the ambassador of fur, and truthfully, the occasional Tasmanian Devil (but only at the park).

Early last year DM had slowly stolen his ability to walk (although he continued to run while he dreamt). His Corgi spirit rolled along in his custom wheels but we knew he would soon break our heart. And he did on November 11, 2007.

To Mama’s Boy – we know your beautiful spirit has evolved into the purist of light and love. Travel well.
