“Theodore, a little Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, and his best friend Julius, a blue merle Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppy, were ‘Onlies,’ young corgis with no siblings who had been sent to the Castle to learn how to get along with other animals—not always easy, especially for Theodore. Both puppies had arrived with mysteries, Theodore in an odd marking on his forehead and Julius in his plaintive calls for “Boy!” As Christmas approached, they joined the rest of the corgis and other animals at the Castle in preparing for a magical event called the Watching. They and the other First Watchers didn’t quite know what would happen in the special field far beyond the Castle walls, and neither Theodore nor Julius could have imagined the miracles that would await them there.”
