Bosun was only the 5th PWC in the nation to earn a NoseWorks 1 title, and the only dog of any breed to do so in a two-wheeled cart. He did it in typical Corgi style! At the age of 12 and increasingly incapacitated due to Degenerative Myelopahty, he not only qualified in all four elements of his first and only tiral, he won the exterior search and finished number 2 dog out of 33! A few weeks later an inoperable tumor sent him to the Rainbow Bridge. His memory lives on. The videos of his searches on Trial Day continue to inspire NoseWorks’ intructors, who in turn, use their expertise to open up an exciting new world for dogs of all ages and physical conditions.
This donation is also made in gratitude to Bobbie Mayer and the Wheeled Corgi Yahoo group for all the wisdom and support they provide to those of us who are caring for our beloved PWCs and CWCs laid low by IVDD or DM
It is alos given in honor of those corgi breeders who have the guts and the brains and the hearts to take DM into consideration when planning a breedings and who are working to eliminate this awful condition from their bloodlines.
