The Story of Katie

Last Updated: October 05, 2003

Katie is an ‘owner turn-in’ from a ‘kennel’in Missouri. She is in good condition & well socialized. A very sweet girl, she gets along well with other dogs & is people oriented.
She has funky movement in her rear. The vet & I checked it out. She has no muscle atrophy on either side, her knees are tight. We did x-rays. She has hip dysplasia but it apparently causes her no pain. The vets recommendation was to do nothing at this time. She runs & plays & has no pain & may always be like she is now. He could see no benefit to surgery which would put her back 2+ months with a lot of pain. He suggested Glucosamine – so I have added that to her diet. She uses both back legs together when she trots or runs but never cries or whines. Her crate of choice is on the upper level(so the pem princess can look down on her subjects) She bounces up there on her own.
CorgiAid has helped with Katie’s spay, heartworm check, and rabies vaccinations. Thank you, CorgiAid supporters, for helping one more good girl along the path to a new home!
