The Story of Calvin

Last Updated: November 15, 2005

Rescuer: Elizabeth Dukesherer-Faery Tails Corgi R at information@corgirescuestlouis.org

Calvin was brought into an area shelter as a stray. The shelter contacted us for help when Calvin went unclaimed.
Calvin came into rescue with a fracture of his left hind leg femur bone. The fracture presents to the distal 1/3 of the bone, just above the condyles. This is an unstable break and cannot be casted or stabilized to heal properly. Our vet said his only options are amputation of the leg or orthopedic surgery to insert pins and repair break. Our vet is not able to repair such a break and recommended he be seen by an orthopedic specialist. CorgiAid supporters will help figure out what is best to do about Calvin’s leg so he can feel better, get healthy, and find a forever family. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Elizabeth Dukesherer-Faery Tails Corgi R at information@corgirescuestlouis.org for more information.
