The Story of Drew

Last Updated: January 26, 2005

Rescuer: Elizabeth Dukesherer-Faery Tails Corgi R at information@corgirescuestlouis.org

Drew, along with Brenna, was rescued by a good samaritan who saw them spending their lives being ignored in their back yard. She convinced their family to give them to her. Drew and Brenna then came to our program for placement.
Drew arrived in a state of apparent sensory overload. He seemed to have great difficulty processing information and appeared in general to be overwhelmed, agitated, and not adjusting to his new environment. We were concerned with the lack of improvement noted as he settled into foster care after his arrival and contacted Animal Behavior Consultant Dorene Olson for assistance. A recommended treatment plan was implemented and we began to see dramatic improvement in Drew’s ability to better cope, process, and adjust in his foster home. Drew has made great strides in his ability to cope and is doing famously in his foster home. He has learned to trust, learned how to play appropriately with other dogs, and now eagerly seeks love and attention from his foster family. Although still a bit timid in new situations, he copes well, and scampers about just as you would expect for any young & active pup.
Even though Drew is so young, his teeth were a mess when he came into rescue.
CorgiAid supporters have helped Drew get clean teeth and a healthy mouth, so he can feel good and look for his forever home. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Elizabeth Dukesherer-Faery Tails Corgi R at information@corgirescuestlouis.org for more information.
