Sally Mae

Sally Mae was found wandering in Texas 3 years ago. She was rescued and placed on a local horse and cow farm, where she was living in a kennel beside the barn at night, and allowed to roam freely during the day. But Sally Mae was starved for human companionship, she ignored the underground fence and began to roam, often being found 2 or more miles from home. The owner tired of searching for her and felt Sally Mae would be happier placed elsewhere. Sally Mae is clearly a house dog and was unhappy being kept outdoors. After coming to my house and receiving a much needed grooming, we’ve learned that she is fully housetrained, crate trained, knows “sit” “down” “come” and “out.” She is very energetic, and a cuddler. She’s a bit overweight for her tiny frame, but a better diet and exercise will take care of those few extra pounds and get her waist back.
Sally Mae loves all people, big or small, male or female. However, she IS particular about her canine companions. She had two corgi pals at her prior home, but is not fond of her foster brothers.
We saw the vet today. Sally Mae was given a rabies shot annual, but has received no other vaccinations, parasite preventative or other vet care, despite the vet’s warnings to her prior owner. Her HW test today was a light positive. The vet will send the bloodwork off for a second opinion, which should be back 3/01/05. She received her other vaccinations and her microchip today.
