The Story of Elizabeth

Last Updated: November 29, 2006

Rescuer: Diane Myers at bdmyers@corgisncritters.org

Sadly, rescue does not always have a happy ending.
Ten year old Elizabeth was turned over to rescue, with 4 other dogs, by a backyard breeder. Elizabeth was suffering from her second case of heartworm. Her heart and lungs were so damaged that she struggled for each breath. The vet felt that left alone she would not have long to live.
Even with her wheezing and struggling for air, she wanted to be near people and get her belly rubbed. She was a real sweet gal to the very end.
CorgiAid supporters helped Elizabeth have a dignified and calm trip to the bridge, surrounded by people who cared for her and wished her well. Thank you.

This dog is not available for adoption.
