The Story of Sammy

Last Updated: January 25, 2006

Rescuer: Arleen Rooney at azpledge@yahoo.com

Sammy came into the the shelter as a stray on 1/6/06. Rescue was alerted to his existence there and his need for rescue as it was a high kill shelter. Sammy was able to get him bailed out of the shelter on 1/12/06 and he was released intact and without a rabies shot. They only gave him a DHLP-P. He had kennel cough and is on antibiotics. I did get him microchipped so I could apply for CorgiAid assistance. As soon as he’s over the kennel cough he will be neutered. He was evaluated by a vet up in Bakersfield and has impaired vision due to cataracts, has a heart murmur and two warts under his chin. His teeth need cleaning and one of his testicles is slightly larger then the other. He needs to be heartworm tested due to the rural area he came from and to check on the heart murmur. My vet is in Los Angeles and would do the neutering and teeth cleaning at the same time once we check him for heartworms.

He is pretty bouncy when walked and although he sleeps a fair amount, he also is active as well.
CorgiAid supporters will help Sammy get healthy, so he can look for the loving retirement home he deserves. Thank you!

This dog is not available for adoption.
