The Story of Copper

Last Updated: August 23, 2011

As much as we all wish every rescuer story had a happy ending, reality is that some do not.

Here is Copper’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Copper came from a rural humane society in Mississippi, Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society. He was given to the shelter as he is heartworm positive, and the owners did not want to treat him. The shelter did not have the money to treat him for heartworms so was looking for a rescue to take him, treat him, and find him a new home.
“Copper was a super sweet dog. He was good with all people, dogs, cats and kids.
“Unfortunately, Copper’s heartworms were too advanced to be treated. He already had heart and lung damage. Poor guy. He is now at rest and no longer suffering.”
CorgiAid supporters will help with Copper’s final expenses. Thank you.
