Zola

Here is Zola’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Zola was in a shelter in the Bakersfield area. An associate (who works with Cardigan corgis) saw her in the shelter, saw her sweet personality, and recognized her as a Pembroke mix. The shelter is overwhelmed with dogs, & Zola was one of over 100 dogs who were ‘out of time.’ Rescuers were contacted, transport was arranged, and little Zola was one of the 100 brought to the SF Bay Area to be rescued.
“When the crates were unloaded, she was next to a crooning coonhound, chatty chihuahuas, and some really yappy terriers. She was not fazed in the least. She trotted right out, and in true corgi fashion, looked us straight in the eye, and seemed to be asking to GO. NOW!
“She walked well on the leash, did her business, and hopped in the car.
“Zola has shown absolutely NO aggression or hostility. When she met my 2 dogs, and the other foster dog, she greeted them… then moved off. She ‘works’ her charm by figuring out what she wants, and finding a way to get that. Typical corgi, when she wanted a bed, she found “something interesting” elsewhere, and got the other dogs in the house to investigate. She then took possession of the bed.
“Zola is amazingly sweet, smart, and even tempered. She learned the house rules the first day – no accidents in the house. She is learning commands incredibly quickly. She has ‘sweet talked’ even non-dog people into petting her. Zola has gotten along with every person, and dog she has encountered.”
