The Story of Sweetie

Last Updated: January 19, 2012

Here is Sweetie’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Sweetie was found a few weeks before Christmas 2011 wandering a country road. She was picked up and taken to a shelter where she was never claimed. She was then taken into rescue. Sweetie was presented to a veterinarian for a large mass on her left back/hip area. The vet aspirated it and said it was a likely lipoma. Sweetie was then turned over to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. Brother Wolf’s vet took one look at the mass and said that it needed to be removed right away. Her bloodwork came back normal, but she tested positive for heartworms. She went into surgery for her mass removal, dental cleaning and one extraction, and surgery went fine ($637). The mass weighed a half pound and measured 6″ x 5″ x 1.5″ thick. The biospsy came back as low-grade spindle-cell carcinoma.”
CorgiAid supporters will help with the cost of Sweetie’s initial testing, dental cleaning, and surgery to remove the mass. Thank you!
We send good thoughts to Sweetie, for the best possible outcome!
Sweetie was rescued in North Carolina.
