Here is Sarah’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Sarah is one-half of a Craigslist ‘Free to a Good Home’ post. She, along with her six-year old brother, were no longer wanted since the son was going off to college and the owners felt they didn’t have time for the dogs anymore because of ‘new commitments [they] are looking forward to.’
“Sarah has mobility issues that we are not sure where they are coming from (hips or back). She is overweight. She has skin allergies with a terribly red belly and hot spots on her hips. Her nails are so long that they are curling into her pads and the quick of the nail is just as long. She probably needs to be sedated to have them done and could be part of her problem in walking. A groomer friend tried to get the worst of it off, but couldn’t do much of anything because the quicks were so long and we didn’t want to hurt her. She also has a nasty mouth that needs attention.
“10.8.14 – It seems that most of Sarah’s mobility issues are coming from the front assembly. The x-rays only reveal some arthritis in the front joints, as well as mild hip dysplasia, and ‘joint mice’ in the right hind knee. The vet recommended the standard course of supplements, fish oils, Traumeel and Zeel. Sarah’s skin issues are likely to continue to be a problem for her.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Sarah get the health care she needed to be able to move forward into a happy future. Thank you!
