The Story of Tikki

Last Updated: November 15, 2014

Rescuer: Tammy Rieser at tamara.rieser@yahoo.com

Here is Tikki’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Tikki is a purebred Pem Corgi but is very petite. Her previous owners had her for 9 yrs. They only fed her chicken/rice and not actual dog food so I am sure nutritionally she is lacking and perhaps even affected her growth. They did absolutely no healthcare maintenance i.e. NO DENTAL, and no spay. The owners moved and decided to give her up as there was some combativeness between her and their other Corgis but not necessarily with Tikki as the cause. She is in foster care short term as her foster person as a very sweet Pit mix but Tikki prefers to be an only dog. She can be toy/food possessive with other dogs.
“She is very loving and sweet and loves attention. She absolutely loves to play fetch and does not act like a 9 yr old. She is underweight at 12.9 lbs per the vet.”
Tikki came into rescue with severe dental disease. She needed extensive oral surgery, including many extractions.
CorgiAid supporters have helped Tikki get on the road to good health, including a clean and healthy mouth. Thank you!
Tikki was rescued in California.

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Tammy Rieser at tamara.rieser@yahoo.com for more information.
