Here is Harley’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Harley’s owner died and he was left in the ranch 5th wheel where he lived because the owner’s family did not want him. Eventually someone came and took away the trailer, and Harley was left with no place to go. Some caring rancher neighbors decided he needed rescuing but also knew they could not take on the whatever veterinary expenses might be necessary to care for Harley.
“Harley has been examined by our vets and the outcome is unknown untreatable skin issue which is most likely genetic. This, together with a bad hair cut and his sweet face give him the appearance of a well loved, discarded teddy bear. Xrays reveal a trauma injury (possibly after being stepped on by livestock) that has crushed the bones in his wrist and damaged nerves to the point of paralysis in his leg. He as been fitted with a temporary splint to see if it works for him and improves his mobility and quality of life. Otherwise amputation is recommended. His teeth were so bad that he needed several extractions and deep root cleanings. Soft food for awhile. But he’s a happy boy.”
She goes on to say he is absolutely one of the sweetest dogs ever…..
CorgiAid supporters are helping Harley with the expense of getting healthy, including much-needed dentistry. Thank you.
