The Story of Miss Kay

ast Updated: October 15, 2017

Rescuer: B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com

Here is Miss Kay’s story, in the words of her rescuer:

“Miss Kay was found dumped on a dirt road with 3 puppies. They didn’t belong to her, but she was taking care of them anyway. A good Samaritan picked them up, took them home, and contacted us for Miss Kay, and an all breed rescue for the puppies. It was clear that Miss Kay needed medical attention. Her dew claws were embedded into her paw pads, she was covered in fleas and ticks with a terrible case of flea dermatitis. She had a limp that we were hoping was from the embedded dewclaws, but it became obvious after their removal that it was not. Miss Kay has Legg–Calvé–Perthes disease (LCPD), which is a birth defect. The vet feels at her age with intervention now, she will have a good quality of life, but without it the older she gets, the more painful she will be. In spite of all this, Miss Kay is a very happy, lovable girl.”

CorgiAid supporters helped Miss Kay with the surgery that would give her the best chance of a comfortably mobile life. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com for more information.
