The Story of Gizmo

Last Updated: October 31, 2018

Here is Gizmo’s story, in the words of his rescuer:

“Gizmo was surrendered to our rescue in September 2018 after his human mother passed away and the remaining family members were not able to take care of him. The former owner had him since he was a puppy so we know his birthdate of 06Feb2012.

“Gizmo’s foster picked him up from his previous owner’s daughter and noticed right away that he didn’t like his ears touched and a rotten smell coming from his mouth. Gizmo was also suffering from fairly severe flea dermatitis and malnutrition. He weighed just 20 lbs at the time of surrender.

“We scheduled Gizmo to be seen by our vet right away to start treatment for his flea derm as well as a full exam. The exam revealed bilateral ear infections and stage 3 dental disease with at least 20 teeth requiring removal.

“Gizmo has returned to the vet for treatment of his ear infections as well as a full dental including cleaning, extractions and follow up antibiotics. I’ll be taking him to his veterinarian next week for a follow up on his dental and ear treatment.”

CorgiAid supporters are helping Gizmo get up to speed on his health care. He feels much better now that his mouth and ears are not such a mess. Thank you!

Gizmo was rescued in Texas.
