The Story of Shadow

Last Updated: October 09, 2018

Rescuer: B. Diane Myers at ccrescue@dogsweetdog.com

As much as we wish every rescue story could have a happy ending, reality is just not that kind or gentle.
Tissue alert.

Here is Shadow’s story, in the words of his rescuer:

“Shadow came to us after his family decided they could not afford to treat his perineal hernia. He was so sweet, but clearly in distress. This was an emergency situation so we agreed to take it. After an initial visit with our vet, he was sent to our surgeon. The surgeon determined that he had not one, but two perineal hernias. He opted to fix one at a time. After he was in recovery, a third hernia, this time an abdominal hernia. While in recovery for the third hernia, this sweet boy indicated he was again in distress and an examination revealed a fourth hernia, this time inoperable. Our vet pleaded with us to let him go, as he was in extreme pain and there was nothing more he could do. So, we sent sweet Shadow to the Rainbow Bridge.”

CorgiAid supporters helped Shadow with the expense of his health care while he was in rescue. Thank you.
