The Story of Loki |
Rescue was contacted by Loki’s owner asking to surrender a puppy who had megaesophagus. Megaesophagus (ME) is when the esophagus (the tube that carries food and liquid between the mouth and stomach) gets larger and loses its ability to move food into the stomach. Loki was very sick when he came into rescue, but started doing better with upright feeding – this helps food go down better. He had very poor body condition, some regurgitation and then became very bloated and was admitted to hospital where it was determined his entire intestinal tract was inflamed along with the ME. Loki also had coccidia. Loki continues to require testing, medical care, and specialized feeding routines. His condition is guarded, but thanks to donors to CorgiAid, Loki is getting the chance he deserves
