As much as we all wish that every rescue story could have a happy ending, reality is not that gentle or kind.

Here is Copper’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“Copper and his buddy Blue lost their homes due to their owner getting married and the new husband demanding they go. Both dogs were heartworm positive, but Copper also had a urinary tract infection and some arthritis and an old injury that caused him to be very painful. His injuries and illness were so severe that after a long discussion with our vet, it was decided that given his age and physical condition, the kindest thing to do for him would be to let him go.”
