The Story of Susie

Last Updated: June 04, 2004

Susie was rescued from the Carson Shelter in the early 1990’s and adopted to a lady who became terminally ill last year and died. Susie and her adopted Corgi mix male partner, Clancy, came back into rescue. Their foster mom was agreeable to keeping them until we could find a qualified adopter that both would be adopted together.
Susie in recently went in for a routine vet exam and the vet said she had a serious heart condition. We had a second opinion and it was discovered Susie has a grade 5 heart murmur and low thyroid. We went ahead and had the necessary full senior panel blood test done as the vet recommended. She is on special heart medication and low thyroid medication and on a special prescription food diet. We are absorbing the cost of the medication and prescription food but would like to sumbit the vet expenses for the initial vet exam and the second opinion vet exam with the tests.
CorgiAid supporters have helped with Susie’s diagnosis, and the beginning meds to help her cope with her conditions. Thank you!
