The Story of Charlie

Last Updated: March 08, 2007

Rescuer: Julie Yamane at clcjmy@comcast.net

Charlie was chained in a backyard for his entire life. He escaped from the chain on Friday, March 2 2007 and was hit by a car. Animal Control found him, took him to the closest vet clinic, and contacted the owners who relinquished him. The clinic called corgi rescue in Denver, CO and asked for help as they felt Charlie could be saved.
Charlie is currently being treated at a specialty clinic, on pain relief and supportive therapy and is responding well, but he has a collapsed lung and a broken pelvis. He will need surgery, a plate in one hip and pins in the other.
He is eating and happy. When asked his prognosis for a painfree life, the DVM replied “excellent”. When asked if he would recommend saving this dog, he replied with a resounding “yes” because of the dog’s lovely personality and his young age.
CorgiAid supporters will help with Charlie’s emergency care and pelvic repair. Thank you!

This dog is available for adoption. Please contact Julie Yamane at clcjmy@comcast.net for more information.
