We hope so much that every rescue story will have a happy ending, but sometimes, sadly, it is just not to be.
Here is Tucker’s story, in the words of his foster mom:
“Tucker’s a breeder throw-away from Seymour, MO. A nice woman in MO took him in and contacted Corgi Rescue and asked if anyone could take him in to rescue. After working on transport for about a month, we finally got him transported to CT and he arrived at my house on 3/21/09. He’s learning how to be an inside dog and although he’s timid and a lot of things are so new to him, he seems to really be enjoying his ‘freedom’.
“When Tucker was under anesthesia for his scheduled neuter and dental cleaning on 4/07/09, vet found a mass inside his mouth. He called me and advised taking a sample and sending it for biopsy and advised that we NOT go ahead with the neuter/dental until we found out what we were dealing with. Biopsy results confirmed that he has Oral Malignant Melanoma and it is a terminal cancer. Because of this, he will not be neutered and will not get his teeth cleaned. He will not be adopted out, since he has cancer and will stay with me in foster care until the end 🙁 ”
