The Story of Packer |
Last Updated: September 28, 2012
Here is Packer’s story, in the words of his rescuer:
“In December we took in a mama Corgi with eight 3-day old puppies. Corgi Aid assisted us with Mama Cass’s care. Packer is one of her puppies.
“All of the puppies are extremely loving. Probably because we hand fed for weeks. He adores people and other dogs.
“Packer’s ulnar bones (Back bone in the front legs.) were much shorter than normal. His feet were turned almost backwards towards the outside. Without surgery he would be crippled and had a much shorter life. http://cal.vet.upenn.edu/projects/saortho/chapter_41/41mast.htm#c
“Packer has come through both surgeries with flying colors. He is a little trooper. He is now walking fine on lead. Stitches from last surgery come out 9-29. He has an adopter who will foster for 3 months until rehab has been completed. They will then permanently adopt little Packer.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Packer get the surgeries he needed, to allow him to comfortably run and play. He is now happily poised at the beginning of a great future. Thank you!
