The Story of Kava

Last Updated: December 05, 2014

Here is Kaya’s story, in the words of her rescuer:
“Kaya showed up at our city animal shelter as a stray. She was filthy, matted and in heat. She did her 3 day stray hold and when no owner showed up I brought her home only to find out the poor girl had heartworms.
“Kaya has now been through her heartworm treatment. She had a reaction at the injection site. She had painful swelling that looked like golf balls under her fur. She had to take antibiotics and steroids for weeks. She has continued to be a sweet and lovable girl throughout her treatment. Now that she is healthy enough to run she is a dedicated squirrel chaser.”
CorgiAid supporters have helped Kaya with the expense of recovering from heartworm infestation. Thank you!
Kaya was rescued in Kansas.
